The Full Menu (Old)

Serenity, healing, and joy, these are my goals for you.

Life is truly a fabulous journey! However, when Grief shows up it can bring with it some serious roadblocks that can make it difficult for us to see how to move forward.

  • Loss of focus and difficulty with concentration
  • Issues with sleep
  • Lack of energy
  • Fear and worry, reasonable and unreasonable alike
  • Emotions that are unpredictable and may feel out of control

All of these things and more are normal. A natural part of the grieving process. As we work together, you will find safe, healthy ways to process your grief, which leads to healing. In the way that is right for you. On your timeline. Remember, it’s all about you and your healing.

You are in charge – always. You decide what goals feel right for you. Your decision, because this is your life. You decide how you would like to move forward and how your Grief Coach can best support you.

When we work together, you can expect me to:

  • Support you as you discover and set your goals
  • Remind and empower you to take the best care of you – this matters more than you may imagine
  • Show you paths to healing that may have escaped your notice until now
  • Hold you accountable for doing your ‘homework’
  • Be your biggest cheerleader and always acknowledge each and every step that you make toward your own healing

I expect you to:

  • Be open to and willing to make changes
  • Commit to progress
  • Be willing to accept and enjoy the positive changes in your life

Master Grief Coach Certification

How does this program work?

This is a self-study program designed to give you the skills you need to understand and effectively manage grief. This program includes an online test which confirms your comprehension of the ‘Understanding Grief and Healing’ as well as ‘Grief Coaching’ modules. Your thorough understanding of these modules is required for certification.

After you have read the materials, and completed the test (required), we meet one on one for 7, 1-hour sessions.

Sessions are scheduled at times convenient for you. They can be by telephone, Skype or Zoom. Really, it’s a matter of what works best for you. Each session will cover very specific material from the Training Modules as well as time for questions and thorough discussion. Thorough understanding of all materials is required for final certification.

Why work with Sandy?

Sandy has been a certified coach since 2008. With many years of life coaching experience as well as her own personal experience with devastating grief due to the loss of her youngest son to suicide in 2010, Sandy has truly ‘been there, done that’. She knows that grief does not need to be a life sentence.

Instead, she sees Grief as the place that we are dropped into when we experience the pain of great loss. Having the tools to effectively process the thoughts and feelings allows one to begin walking that path, ‘Through grief, into healing’.

Reiki

This beautiful and very gentle energy work is all about bringing you into balance which restores relaxation, stress reduction and promotes healing. The energy of Reiki flows through the practitioner to you on whatever level serves your best and highest good. This brings you into balance, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

This energy work is completely non-invasive. You simply lie fully clothed on a massage table as the practitioner shares this gentle energy. Generally, they lightly place their hands on various parts of your body for an hour. If you prefer not to be touched, that is absolutely fine. The energy flows either way. In fact, some prefer to sit in a chair rather than lying on a table. Again, it’s really about what feels best for you.

If you prefer to receive this healing energy from a distance, or you live far away, you can still receive the gently healing of Reiki. We make the appointment and at the agreed-upon time, you relax while I send Reiki to you. Absolutely as effective as in person.

As Reiki releases what is not needed and brings one into balance, it can be a time of great emotional release. Never fear, I keep the highest quality tissues on hand. Always. It’s very common for clients to slip into a restorative and healing nap.

Reiki can be incredibly beneficial for those moving through grief into healing. Receiving a Reiki treatment helps to alleviate stress and along with it, allows those emotions that we so often stuff down, to also be felt and released.

Reiki can safely be received as a complementary treatment along with conventional therapies.

Reiki is always safe. For you, your loved ones here as well as those on The Other Side.

Hypnosis and Meditation

When you change the way your mind thinks – you change the way your life unfolds. Meditation is deep relaxation. Hypnosis is deep relaxation with the intention of welcoming change.

Hypnosis is about communicating with the subconscious, which operates around 88% of our lives. Yes, although it takes an astonishing amount of our time and effort, our conscious thinking mind is only in control 12% of the time.

The powerful subconscious mind is responsible for beating our hearts, blinking our eyes and breathing our bodies. The subconscious is also responsible for keeping us as safe as possible at all times. Which is why when we have experienced something traumatic or shocking, it’s not at all unusual to become jumpy, to have difficult calming due to being on alert all of the time. The subconscious may well have taken on the message that danger is lurking around every corner.

Hypnosis can be very helpful as you are experiencing grief, processing, and healing. It matters because the words we think, speak and hear are creating our truth. Quite literally. When we are hurting and all of our focus, thoughts, and conversations are about the depth of that pain, we are reinforcing these things within our subconscious.

Let me be very clear. I am not advocating denial! Hurt, worry, guilt, and all emotions matter. It’s not only not helpful, but actually detrimental to deny them. What is helpful is acknowledging, processing and then gently shifting our awareness by becoming aware of better feeling, more gentle thoughts and noticing what we think, say and hear.

Hypnosis is a heightened state of relaxation and concentration which allows the subject to focus and accept suggestions which are agreeable to the subject.

NO! You cannot be hypnotized against your will. In fact, all hypnotism is actually self-hypnosis. Your hypnotist is merely a guide, leading the subject into the relaxed state which allows the subject to accept the suggestions they prefer. This means you are the decision-maker about what suggestions to accept and what to simply let go. You’re in control – always.

You will feel relaxed. You will be able to hear everything the hypnotist is saying to you. You may very well remember every word that was spoken.

Rest assured, as the hypnotic subject you will only accept the suggestions you choose to accept. If your hypnotist asks you to do something that you do not agree with for any reason at all, you will simply disregard the suggestion.

Here’s a bit of good news; if for any reason whatsoever, your hypnotist leaves the room while you are in a state of hypnosis and does not return you will either slip into a short restful nap or wake gently. The state of hypnosis cannot be maintained unless the hypnotist keeps speaking to maintain that condition.

We meet in person for your session. You relax and together we discover what you are ready to release and what you are ready to welcome. Remember, this is always all about you.
