As a Master Grief Coach, Ashley understands profound loss and deep grief healing.

‘ I lost my firstborn son, Eli, to suicide on August 14, 2020. It brought me to my knees.

While reading through messages in a Facebook support group for parents of children who died by suicide, I saw posts from parents who had lost their child ten years prior and were still immobilized by their grief. I made the conscious decision that I was going to do whatever it took to heal, whatever that looked like.

The pain was feeling was too raw and intense to imagine still feeling that way in ten years. I also knew that Eli would not have wanted me to stop living because of his death.

It was on this same page I saw a post from Sandy Walden. It was a beacon of hope in the darkness. Here was a woman who had lost her son to suicide as well and had found a way not only to move forward with her life but to feel joy again. I also noticed the title Master Grief Coach below Sandy’s name. I had to know more. I felt immediately called to help others along their journey through grief. I reached out to Sandy and asked about becoming a Master Grief Coach.

At the time, my grief was too new and too raw to consider taking the class, but we kept in communication over the next couple of years. I worked on myself. I saw a very talented and compassionate therapist.

I took Sandy’s Grief Healing class, and then it was time! I took the Master Grief Coach class, and I’m so glad that I did!

I’ve found that there is nothing as comforting as being able to talk to or even just share space with someone who understands what you’ve been through.

Just as I received guidance and comfort from those who walked this road before me, now it is my turn to take others by the hand and accompany them along the path toward healing.

If you have lost a child to suicide, or in any other way, please, reach out and let me support you on your grief healing journey.
